Instructor: Allison Juneau
A bit about me: Allison is a graduate from the Master of Fine Arts program at UAF. She works for UAF Summer Sessions and helps to administer youth programming throughout the year. Allison played her first Dungeons and Dragons game in 2003, and she's been a huge fan of tabletop gaming ever since that first roll of the dice! She is thrilled to have the opportunity to share a love of collaborative storytelling with a new generation of players.

Description: Have you ever wanted to learn how to play Dungeons and Dragons but weren’t sure where to start? Learn the basics of the world’s greatest role-playing game in a friendly setting on the UAF campus! Throughout this class, we will cover how to create characters, how to navigate the basic rules of the game, collaborative roleplaying and storytelling, combat mechanics, and even how to run your very own game for friends and family. Take a chance and roll the dice! This class is open to beginners and returning students.
Bringing a 5th edition Player's Handbook to class is recommended but not required! There is an older Player's Handbook from 2014, as well as a newly revised Player's Handbook released in 2024. Either book will work for this class.
